Important Note: The Compassion Center stopped offering Yoga classes in November, 2016. This page remains as an homage to the teachers that taught at TCC and the students that attended these classes.
Even though The Compassion Center only opened its doors on January 1st, people have already started to experience the peaceful, restful, stress reducing Yoga classes that we offer. I had the pleasure Monday night of watching a group of people at Clarissa Alliano’s Gentle Relaxation Yoga class at our Center. What struck me was the feeling I got looking at our Center. There was a beautiful peaceful feeling to our Center.
We have had some incredible Meditations here where people have been so kind to come up to me and tell me what a great experience they have had. But Monday night’s Yoga class was the first Yoga class that I could really see and feel a very special vibe to The Compassion Center.
I have seen pictures of Meditation and Yoga spaces in other cities and other countries that looked incredibly tranquil. They truly appeared to me to be places where you would have a wonderful experience and walk away feeling very calm, peaceful, and content. This was always one of the goals of The Compassion Center and after seeing Monday’s class, I think I have met this goal.
If you have never taken a Yoga class before, and you are looking to have the stress of the day wash away, please come to our Gentle Relaxation Yoga classes:
- Mondays: 6:00-7:15pm
- Thursdays: 9:15-10:30am
Our teacher for these classes, Clarissa, is a wonderful gentle soul who has been teaching Yoga for two decades. She is well-known and very well-respected here on Staten Island. It is an honor and pleasure to have her teach her classes at The Compassion Center.
